Filament Holder

The filament holder that came with our 3D Printer worked fine until the amount of filament on the reel became less than 1/3 of a full reel.  Our solution to the problem was to design our own filament holder.  We decided to use wood, old rollerblade wheel bearings and, of course, 3D printed parts.

Bearing

We ended up using four rollerblade wheel bearings.  Two bearings were installed in each bearing spool.

 

We used Onshape, an online CAD program, to design the components of our filament holder.
