Ol' Doug used to raise hogs for more years than he wants to think about these days. He did it right there on the farm that's been in the family for more than a hundred years. Finally, he sold out the farming operation to his youngest son and retired into the sawmilling business.

The mill is just off the road to the North, through the woods and to the back of the farm. That's where you need to go if you've got a few logs, or even a truck load or two, that you would like cut into some pretty nice lumber. Just drop off your wood, but don't get in a hurry. It won't be but a day or two and your boards will be cut to size and ready to go.

If you hang around a bit you may even get invited in by the woodstove for a cup of coffee and a story or two. There is a cookie jar that sits right close by. That little wood heated side room is about as pleasing a place as you would ever want to hang out in, and the company is pretty darn good too. Like Doug says, "some days there may be more coffee drinkin' and story tellin' that goes on here than any real lumber making business." It just kind of depends on the weather, among other things
