Friend Lizzie,

As this is my day to write letters, I thought it would be in “line” to write to you.  Well, I reached home O.K. and suppose you did also

Did you go home that night on the 6.00 o’clock train?  How was the Institute?  I understood you were going.

How did you enjoy the examination?  Mr. Brown passed and got a certificate and so did Miss Cloney.  But they were the only ones that passed from Martin, so I was informed by Mr. Tousey.

I did not go but I have made up my mind to go to Plainwell next Friday and write just for fun.  I think is is fun, don’t you?

My certificate don’t expire till April 1, 1895.  Have you seen any of the Normalites since Aug 3?

“Country Live” is a “chestnut”.  My appetite is just simply wonderful since I came home.  I don’t believe they have had enough in “Old Fort Scott” for the last month to feed me a whole day.  I dare say they have had enough eggs at Wykhuysens for a dozen men.

Well Lizzie, I have been a “real good boy” since the Normal.  But O My That examinatin!  (Aug. 24)  Of course you haven’t got to go again this fall.

I am a firm believer in taking watches to the “Electric Light Plant”.  My watch will not even keep good day time now.  Sometimes it is only two o’clock by it when I get up mornings.  Hope all your watches are “all right”.  “Experience is a good teacher.”

I haven’t tried any mustard in my sauce yet, have you?

Grandpa died just 4 mo. Ago today.

Well seeing I have spoilt four sheets in “breaking the ice”, guess it would be in order for me to quit.

Hoping to hear from you in the near future and etc.

Believe me your True Friend,

Chas W. B.
