Dear Friend, -

The weather is so fine down here that I have almost a mind to enclose some of it just so you could appreciate it once more.  But I sincerely hope that ere this your Dennison mud has changed to nice roads towards Jerichoville where you hold out five days in the week.  I was indeed glad that you got the school although I think that I am doing you no great favor by appreciating your position in such a school of “Comanche Indians.”

Herbert is prospering quite well under the influence of a warm sun and partially because communications have been re-established between Berlin and Room 11 Mound Hall.  It pleases him immensely.

He goes to the Baptist Church and I think he can pray already but he says he will not for you as “what is not worth asking for is not worth granting” (personally asking) he means.

Lauretta informs me that “ he has clear sailing now” as Frank Miekam has gone to Harvey, Ill. And is writing to her (Lauretta).

Yes I think that it would be a good plan for some more at Dennison to “Jump the broomstick”.  I believe about as Fr. O’Conner does that after the boys get to be twenty-eight years of age and unmarried they are poor sticks and not good for anything.  He ought to give them another breeze.

Old Grover passed through this city on his way to Chicago.  I went down Monday and saw him press the button.  It is a grand sight.  So is Grover too.  Plenty of him too.

I shall go down again some time.  If Flora comes early enough, that is before I go home, I shall wait for her.  If not, I shall go down at the June vacation, which comes June 1 to 6.

When are you coming!

Oh: say how is Rob in school?

School goes off fine now and very fast too.  I am getting more algebra than I ever had before and like it very much.

I take Botany too and we get some very nice posies to analyze.  Not posy girls as Flora says that I must not say that anymore and you know that what she says is law.
