Dear Lizzie,

Today is Friday the day we were all to write to each other and although I am sick in bed I will try and write you a few lines.  I was taken Wednesday morning with sore throat and chills then of course I had fever, had chills and fever yesterday and my throat was worse.  Feel some better today.  We have received two letters from Dennison this week.  Ella is better now but has been very sick with pneumonia of the lungs.  I am glad she is better.  Have worried so about her.  She had such a fever when I was there Saturday and Eddie it seems as though he doesn’t get any better either.  Has lung fever I think.  Poor boy it put him back so in his studies he said he would have to study very hard to catch up with the rest of his class.

Well I suppose Mary had gone through the terrible ordeal of saying, “I’ve come”.  I would like to have seen her wouldn’t you?  But then she can “laugh in her sleeve” at me for she is an experienced “school Mamm” now and I look like anything but a school mamm but am going to commence my school next Monday if I can stand up.

Have you been to Coopersville since we left?  Wonder how Mr. Noble liked the idea of sweeping the house.  I felt ashamed of the way we left the house.  You know I was the last one there and my greatest desire was to get away just as soon as possible.  If thought in time, I would have had Delon sweep but my thoughts were not collective as Prof. Falls says.  I wonder if you can read this.  I know it is horrid but I am so tired am sitting up in bed and my head aches.  Please write me a long letter and all the news you can think of.

Well, good bye for this time.  Write soon to your loving friend,

Littie

Lizzie, will you please send me some of those cross-stitch patterns on gingham you can send in a letter all right I think and I will very much obligated.
