There is nothing quite like a good story

The only thing better than reading a good story is writing a good story

Bum Number One

Grandpa taught me a poem that I call "Bum Number One". Grandpa said he remembered his dad's hired hand singing this poem as they worked in the fields.

There was an old bum who had a wooden leg. He had no tobacco nor tobacco could he beg. There was another old bum, as sly as a fox, who always had tobacco in his old tobacco box. Said bum number one to bum number two, won't you give me a chew. Said bum number two to bum number one, I'll be darned if I do. Save up your money and pile it in rocks and you'll always have tobacco in your old tobacco box.
