A full grown cottontail rabbit appears in the early morning sunlight on the lawn below the bedroom window; gently hopping and stopping periodically to nibble the longer blades of grass in its path.  The small animal feels to have mysteriously appeared out of the dew covered morning on the tree trunk shadowed landscape; a mythical creature brought to life by the sun beaming on the edge of the  horizon.  A morning dove coos in the distance, its soothing call seemingly coming from no definable direction.  The rabbit appears and reappears in its meanderings among the flowers, ferns, and tree trunks just outside and below the open window.  Slight morning breezes ripple green leaves on the maples and beach trees no longer quieted by the silence of the passing night.  Two red squirrels playfully find their way through the springing branches as they make their way through the upper canopy surrounding the house.  Sparrows flit in and out of the foliage as the new day shows itself in the cool sun filled air.  Crows, out and beyond in the open fields of farmland to the east, call out to the arrival of morning.  Cottontail rabbit has moved on and into another part of the day.
