One Room Schoolhouse Reunion

From the newspaper

More than 125 people attended the 10th anniversary reunion of one-room schools at the Crockery Township Hall on Sept. 22, 2018.

Ten years ago, alumni from Hanchett School initiated the first reunion, joined by former Lawrence School students the following year.† In 2015, the group expanded again to include students from the South Evergreen School.† Now the annual reunion is open to all who attended one-room schools; an opportunity to gather and rekindle friendships, share photos and stories, and enjoy entertainment with a fine meal.

The Coopersville Old kids Choir and brother and sister musical duo, Jo Anne Windberg and Ken Langlois entertained the group.† Shirley Cunningham had everyone laughing with her hilarious jokes.† The celebration brought together friends who make the reunion an annual event, as well as those who came fro the first time and hadnít seen each other in decades.

The September 2019 reunion will again be open to all one-room school students and an even larger turnout is expected as word of the event becomes better known,.
