CAN’T LOCATE HIM
Officers Fail to Find Martin Golden’s Murderer.
Are of the Opinion Farmers in the Vicinity of White Lake Have Vivid Imaginations |
(Special to The Evening Post)
Grand Haven, May 4. - - Under Sheriff Frank Salisbury and a posse of Ottawa County officers have returned from Montague, where they have been spending a week searching the woods for the fugitive supposed to be the murderer of Martin C. Golden. They found nobody in the woods and have come to the conclusion that the farmers in that vicinity, who have been seeing strange acting men, have let their imaginations run away with them. Officers have been out night and day, and have heard many stories, but have seen nobody acting suspiciously.
Their investigation will probably take another turn now, as the belief is still strong that Golden’s murderer is not far from the scene of the crime. |
