Miss Lizzie Golden,

          Dennison, Mich.

Dear Friend:-

After so long an interval of silence I will try and answer the letter I rec’d from you some time ago.

I never even wrote and thanked you for your trouble.  I am ever so much obliged for my report.

I suppose you was up here to the Great Carnival.  I went to days.

The last two days I was laid up with Rheumatism so I couldn’t go out very much.  But ( it ) the parades all went by our house and I watched it from the window.

Josie came up Wednesday and stayed until to-day.

She said you was coming up.

I heard you were going to give up your school.

Josie told me and she almost cried ( when)

I am glad I came up here now.

How are your folks.

My mother and father are going to Wisconsin again next week.

If you come up to the again be sure and come and see me.  I only live three blocks from Monroe St. On the Corner of Oak and Division St.  In the Glen Haven Block.  I guess I will close for this time. I remain your loving friend Winnie Griswold
