The following envelope was empty. The envelope was addressed to Miss Lizzie Golden, Dennison, Michigan. It was stamped with a 2 cent stamp and the post mark on the front of the envelope was Herrington, Mich. May 15 1889. It also had a post mark on the back of the envelope. It was Dennison, Mich. May 15 1889.
Herrington is a tiny unincorporated community located in Wright Township, Ottawa County, Michigan at 43°03′37″N 85°49′42″W in the south-central part of the township at the corners where sections 22, 23, 26, and 27 meet. It was a station on the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railway and was given a post office in April 1888. |
