Hi Glenn, Hi Dick, you all did a terrific job on the website for Hanchett School's reunion. Cindy Timmerman mentioned that I should report the two names I spotted that were wrong on the photos but if it's not possible, no sweat. The 2 names are:
Hanchett School 1914 photo: 5th line down, "Ethel" should be "Essie" Timmerman (Ethel is already listed on line 2)
Hanchett School 1955-1956 photo: 3rd Row, "Virginia" should be "Irene" Timmerman (Virginia is in the 2nd Row).
Thanks. Hope to see you there.

Our thanks to Irene for pointing out the above two incorrect names. |

Glenn,
Pass this on to Jim and others....
I mentioned the graves that a couple of people spoke of at the reunion that are just south of Hanchett School, up the hill from Mergener's driveway....and my dad said, why that's the grave of your great-great grandfather Arnold Fisk and it's written in the land title that the owners must care for the grave site. There is a baby buried there too but no one knows who it is. Arnold Fisk's daughter Sarah married Daniel Timmerman and they are buried in Ottawa Center. These old guys sure have a lot of information, don't they? He also said that his dad attended Hanchett School for 3 years in the 1800s.
Thanks again to you, Jim, Cindy, Larry, and others for putting on such a lovely evening. We all enjoyed ourselves.

Thank you for planning the Hanchet Reunion. It is one of those things everybody thinks somebody should do but usually nobody does. Well you did it and it was fun and I'm glad I made the trip from Iowa. Although I got to talk to many people, the night went quickly and I later thought of ones I meant to talk to but didn't get a chance.
Maybe a suggestion for some future get together is to have folks introduce themselves to the group, tell the years they went to the school and maybe whether they became a butcher, a baker or a candlestick maker for their life's work.
Thanks again for your planning. Since Larry didn't have an email address on the sheet I have maybe you could pass along my appreciation to him too.

I saw the photos of a relative of mine that I would very much like to get in touch with, Shirley Cunningham. My name is Cathy, and I am her great niece ( I think!)
I used to see her when I was attending GVSU, but since I re-married and moved to the east side of the state, I have been out of contact.
My dad is Jim, and grandparents are Ray and Marian. Ray and Shirley were brother and sister.
If you could please pass this email along to her with my contact information, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Cathy S. |

Hi Cathy,
I just forwarded your e-mail to Shirley.
How did you find the Hanchett School Reunion website?

I was working on my family tree and did a google search on her name and that was the first thing that came up.
I hope it was ok, I downloaded some of the pictures, I even found one of my grandfather when he was about 6 in the 1924 school picture!
Thank you for your reply,
